Actor Mushtaq Khan of ‘Welcome’ Fame Passes Away After Losing Battle with Cancer

Mushtaq Khan, a veteran character actor and comedian who was a household name in Bollywood cinema and television, has passed away. He breathed his last on Thursday evening (24 September) whilst undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. He was 56 years old at the time of his passing. The untimely demise of this talented artist, following a prolonged battle with lung cancer, has cast a deep pall of gloom over the entire entertainment industry.

A Courageous Battle Against Cancer and His Final Moments

According to family sources, Mushtaq Khan had been suffering from lung cancer for a considerable time. Following appropriate medical treatment, he had previously been declared cancer-free and had returned to health. However, his recovery was short-lived. Just eight days prior to his death, the cancer suddenly relapsed and spread throughout his body.

In a critical condition, he was swiftly admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he passed away at approximately 7:00 pm on Thursday.

Confirming his passing to the news outlet Hindustan Times, Mushtaq Khan’s business partner, Shivam, stated: “He passed away at around 7:00 pm on Thursday. He had previously recovered after undergoing cancer treatment. However, eight days ago, the cancer relapsed aggressively and rapidly reached an advanced stage. As his health deteriorated suddenly, he had to be hospitalised, but the disease had already progressed to a critical phase.”

Over a career spanning more than three decades, Mushtaq Khan carved out a distinct identity for himself in Hindi cinema and television.
